Glossier is an American multifunctional cosmetic brand with a focus on skin and body care products and makeup. Launched by a famous blogger Emily Weiss, Glossier skyrocketed to stardom almost overnight, quickly becoming the beauty industry’s most talked-about brand. Glossier products are fun, easy to mix and layer. Interestingly, Glossier chose an unusual distribution path. The products are sold exclusively on the brand’s website, which contributed to the company’s phenomenal success.
More than half of Glossier products are suitable for vegans, but there are a few exceptions. Some products do contain animal-derived ingredients such as beeswax, honey, and others. Currently, 57% of the Glossier products are suitable for vegans.
The Vegan Society or The Vegetarian Society have not yet certified Glossier products.
Glossier been granted the Leaping Bunny certification by Cruelty-Free International. Whilst the Leaping Bunny Program is not directly linked with veganism, having this certification confirms Glossier’s position on animal testing and animal welfare.
